Rain, Rain...

The flooding in Nashville is hard to believe because it's NASHVILLE, not New Orleans.

Street flooding is very common in Nola from rain storms. We experienced a catastrophic flood in Nola from a stalled rainstorm, not a hurricane. We had two feet of water in our one-story house. Lost our wedding pictures, kids books, the bedroom suite of a great-grandmother. Not an experience I care to repeat.

Hands On Nashville is a great organisation. They are coordinating volunteer efforts to help the victims. Check them out!

Sweet Boy had fun wading in the water in my LL Bean boots.

Tigers @ the Nashville Zoo

The weather was warm so many of the animals were sleepy. Love this pic of the Bengal & white tigers cuddled up! The zoo also has two white tigers cubs on loan.

Cumberland River Pedestrian Bridge

The first pic is of the Cumberland River in Nashville looking toward Opry Mills, Opryland Hotel, etc. (seen through the trees). The General Jackson steamboat is docked there also. The pic was taken from the Cumberland River Bridge, a pedestrian walking & biking bridge connecting Two Rivers Park near Opry Mills to Shelby Bottoms Nature Park on the other side of the river. Second pic is of the bridge itself.
