Meet Molly the Pony...

I heard about this story via email & wondered if it was true,...well, it is!!!

Molly was abandoned by her owners as they fled Hurricane Katrina & then was severely injured in a pit bull attack after the storm. She lost her leg but the vets at
LSU were able to save her & now she walks on a prosthetic leg. Amazing! Here is her Myspace page. LSU Press has published a new children's book about her - I will be buying several copies for the grandkids!

Available here.

Not good, not good...

As former residents of New Orleans (23 yrs.) we watched & waited as Gustav hit the Gulf Coast. It was a miracle in my opinion that the flood walls on the Industrial Canal did not break this time. That's just a thin concrete wall holding back a massive amount of water. The railroad bridge (upper left) was erroneously left in the "down" position. Nola is definitely not ready for a bigger storm.
