I heard about this story via email & wondered if it was true,...well, it is!!! Molly was abandoned by her owners as they fled Hurricane Katrina & then was severely injured in a pit bull attack after the storm. She lost her leg but the vets at LSU were able to save her & now she walks on a prosthetic leg. Amazing! Here is her Myspace page. LSU Press has published a new children's book about her - I will be buying several copies for the grandkids!
